Game Descriptions
Texas Hold'em
In Texas Hold'em (also referred to as Hold'em) two cards are dealt to each player. Each player can only see their own cards. Then, each player may either call or raise the 'blind bet', or they must 'fold' their hand. This is referred to as 'the first round'. When the first round of betting is complete, three cards are dealt face up on the table. These cards are called 'communal cards' and are collectively referred to as 'the flop'. On this and the following two rounds, if no player places a bet, each player is entitled to 'check' and continue the round. If there is a bet, players may fold, call or raise. The fourth 'communal' card is then dealt. This is referred to as the 'turn'. Another round of betting takes place and then the fifth and final 'communal' card is dealt. This is called the 'river'. The best five-card poker hand from an individual player's private cards together with the five communal cards is the winner.Want to know more about Texas Hold'em?
Seven Card Stud
Seven Card Stud is the ideal game for the skilled poker player or the ambitious beginner. This is the game where a skillful player with an alert mind has the ability to relate each card in his hand, or visible in the hand of an opponent, to once-visible but now folded hands, in order to estimate the possibility of obtaining his required hand or that of an opponent's hand. The game is played in five rounds with anywhere from two to eight players taking part. The maximum bet is doubled after the third round of play, which results in a large pot for the lucky winner. Omaha Poker
Omaha Poker is comparable to Texas Hold'em. The game can be played with two to ten players, who attempt to create the best five-card combination from nine cards. The player with the best combination wins the pot. The nine cards are composed of four 'pocket' cards and five 'community' cards. This mix of cards results in especially strong combinations. If you can play Texas Hold'em, you can play Omaha. Want to try your hand at Omaha Poker?
Five Card Stud
In Five Card Stud, each player gets one card face down (private) and one card face up (public). This is followed by a bet. Each player then gets a second face up card, followed by a bet. A third and fourth card, face up, is then given with each being followed by a bet. May the best hand win!
